Inspiration for Feeling Disconnected, Weak in Faith

Greetings,

I started writing and compiling my Book of Ises for myself (only a couple people have read it so far and have encouraged it)- I needed to gain a stronghold spiritually, I had to determine the path of Kristos by reading Scripture myself. I had to Iditate and outline for myself the qualities of JAH Rastafari - that Nazirene Way which gains everliving life and translation to the "heavenly" Zion I. I had to gain a relationship with JAH that would truly carry the Livity and Faith of Rastafari with me always.
So I started making lists of important qualities of righteousness, affirmations, and inspirational quotes from Scripture. But then I needed something that I could read when I felt in certain moods. I needed a quick fix - that was very important to bring me back to sanity on the spot. So I made compilations of Scripture that have themes to suit certain needs or moods. This post is just two of these themes. I offer them to all the Sistren who are so busy doing everything and struggling through hardships, that sometimes forget to hold onto JAH and to righteousness, and to see the love and peace that is the Irit of JAH RastTafari. So here's...

What to consider when I and I feel:

Disconnected from JAH

You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. Therefore be careful to observe them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’ Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren.
 (Deuteronomy 4:2, 6, 9)

You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you. “Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him.

(Deuteronomy 8:5-6)
JAH Rastafari!

Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today, Then it shall be, if you by any means forget the Lord your God, and follow other gods, and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish. (Deuteronomy 8:11, 19)

Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. (Revelation 3:2)

“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth... As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. (Revelation 3:15-16, 19)

Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God [Eden]. (Revelation 2: 4-5, 7)

Take words with you, And return to the Lord. Say to Him, “Take away all iniquity; Receive us graciously, For we will offer the sacrifices of our lips. I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely, For My anger has turned away from him. Who is wise? Let him understand these things. Who is prudent? Let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right; The righteous walk in them, But transgressors stumble in them.(Hosea 14:2, 4, 9)

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)

Yet from the days of your fathers You have gone away from My ordinances. And have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” Says the Lord of hosts. “ But you said, ‘ In what way shall we return?’
(Malachi 3:7)

...that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind. (Ephesians 4:22-23)

Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
(Hebrews 3:12-13)

Whoever walks blamelessly will be saved, But he who is perverse in his ways will suddenly fall.
(Proverbs 28:18)

He who walks with integrity walks securely, But he who perverts his ways will become known. (Proverbs 10:9)

The mouth of the righteous is a well of life, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked. (Proverbs 10:11)

If we had forgotten the name of our God, Or stretched out our hands to a foreign god, Would not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart. (Psalm 44:20-21)

For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior JAH Rastafari Sela, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. (2 Peter 2:20-21)

“Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ (Jeremiah 6:16)

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. (1 John 1:9-10)

Finally, [Sistren], whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. (Philippians 4:8)

Weak in Faith

(Reassurance for everyday)

So Yesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.. (Mark 11:22-25)

“And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. (Luke 12:29-31)

And not being weak in faith, [Abraham] did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. (Romans 4:19-21)

Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,’ Calling a bird of prey from the east, The man who executes My counsel, from a far country. Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I will also do it. (Isaiah 46:10-11)

Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you—The sure mercies of David.(Isaiah 55:3)

Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. (Isaiah 55:6)

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower, And bread to the eater. So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:10-11)

For the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” Says the Lord, who has mercy on you. (Isaiah 54:10)

So the ransomed of the Lord shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; Sorrow and sighing shall flee away. (Isaiah 51:11)

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

Yes, He loves the people; All His saints are in Your hand; They sit down at Your feet; Everyone receives Your words. The eternal God is your refuge, And underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, And will say, ‘Destroy!’ (Deuteronomy 33:3, 27)

Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Krist’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Krist, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.
(1 Peter 4:12-14)

As for JAH, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?It is God who arms me with strength, And makes my way perfect. (Psalm 18:30-32)

You enlarged my path under me, So my feet did not slip. (Psalm 18:36)

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Yesus Krist and Haile Selassie I JAH Rastafari. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24)

My child, if you are going to serve the Lord, be prepared for times when you will be put to the test. Be sincere and determined. Keep calm when trouble comes. Stay with the Lord; never abandon Him, and you will be prosperous at the end of your days. Accept whatever happens to you. Even if you suffer humiliation, be patient.
Gold is tested in fire and human character is tested in the furnace of humiliation. Trust in the Lord, and He will help you. Walk straight in His ways, and put your hope in Him. (Sirach 2:1-6)

Please leave comments Sistren, I have more compilations too.

  1. Light & Love! Love & Light! Give Thanks sistren Ila for these upful & powerful words. Word Sound Power fuh sure. Sometimes we do feel discoonnected from Jah, for whatever reason or circumstance, but the Word is truth, made flesh, so there's an example of perfect livity.
Referencing the 'Amakniyou' or Apostles Creed in the Ethiopian Orthodox faith, "He is not two or three, and no addition can be made to him; but he is only one, living for ever, because he is not hidden that he cannot be known, but we know him perfectly through the law and the prophets, that he is almighty and has authority over all the creation."
