Crochet Patterns

As a stay-at-home-mama, I started crocheting and sewing fifteen years ago to help support my family and to clear my student loan debt. It took many years but for my 40th birthday 3 years ago, I made my final payment and cleared my debt. Unfortunately, all the hard work I put in also ruined my hands. As of 2025, I've had to let go of crocheting hats as the main source of my income for various reasons, but one of the main reasons is that I want to preserve my hands.
It's been a hard road, and giving up something I've grown accustomed to doing full time for fifteen years has been a difficult life change. While I will always do a little crochet on the side, I am ready to pivot to my other love: writing and teaching. My dream is be a published author and to grow my You Tube channel.
I don't want to give up ILA Designs, and I believe that my products are valuable. Not just to me and the people who purchase and wear them. I believe my work can be valuable to other Stay-at-home Rasta mamas and dawtas who are searching for a way to make money from home whether as a side hustle or full time hustle.
I may not be able to offer my products like before, but I am passing the baton and am now selling my patterns. My wish is that both the new and existing generations of Rastafari Dawtas can utilize them to create beautiful bags and hats that will allow them to support themselves.
While you cannot sell my patterns, you can make the items and sell them in your online store or in person at markets or in your store.
It takes time to build a business and handicraft can be time-consuming and costly at times, but if I could make enough to pay off my debt from these simple beginner patterns, then so can you!

    1. Give thanks Krystal! I pray JAH will keep you firm on the trod of RasTafari!
I don't know any videos off hand but I can recommend searching YouTube for sewing techniques "how to sew..." and what you need to know, and you are sure to find some information. also suscribe to DIYMeesha and GianniL channels, they have good beginner sewing tutorials as well. the internet has lots of info so you can find what you need! I plan to get a good sewing book with all the techniques inside.
