Vibrate Higher for 2018

For 2018 I wish to inspire all Sistren to grow and improve themselves as I myself aim to do the same. As wives and mothers we tend to lose commitment to ourselves. We become so consumed by work and the needs of others that we often neglect our bodies and our minds. We get so lost in satisfying others that we aren’t even aware of our own needs until stress, anxiety or illness start to knock us down. We go through the motions, we fulfil our duties but we are not fulfilling ourselves on an Iritual level. We can’t give our best to anyone if we don’t first provide for ourselves. In order to improve our lives in various ways, in order to be truly grounded, happy and prosperous we must pay closer attention to our own needs. We must increase our vibration.

To vibrate higher is to consciously enhance our mind, body and Irit, it is the foundation of RasTafari Livity. It is about increasing the positivity in one’s life, to strengthen one’s character and will in order to create a better mental and physical living environment for self and by extention, friends and family.

To vibrate higher is to feed the soul with positive attitudes and actions that serve to make us more in tuned with our God-Self, to make us LIVE in the I-Self rather than just the body.

I have been thinking about my own journey and came up with some steps that will help me to raise my vibration. My intention is for these steps to positively adjust my thoughts, attitudes and habits so that I can be mentally and physically healthy, proactive and at peace – not ill and stressed. Lots of these steps may seem obvious, and familiar as we do already factor most if not all of these things into our daily lives. But there is something more encouraging about writing it all down and feeling responsible for carrying them out. Life is hectic and it gets in the way. A month may pass and you don’t do anything for yourself, take time alone to just relax, clean out the clutter or read a book or pamper yourself. Weeks may pass and you haven’t listened to your favorite music or danced or exercised. Years may pass and you haven’t looked at yourself in the mirror and had a deep discussion about your feelings and what you want for yourself.  Time passes and you forget who you are, who you used to be or who you wanted to become. Time is like a thief in the night when we are just so busy trying to raise a family.

So it is important to make a list, to commit yourself to that list, to review it daily, to even plan for it weekly, just so that you know that YOU are giving YOURSELF what you need to improve and enhance your life. We mustn’t take our lives for granted. We must dwell in the present and consciously create a better future.

Start by journaling, by sitting down and having a quiet conversation with yourself about your fears, your wants, your strengths, weaknesses and the goals you need to set for yourself in order to improve your situation and how you view yourself and life. Then make that list and stick it up in a place that you can see it every day. Make other mini lists in your journal as well, of your dietary intentions, your exercise regime, a list of activities and projects you wish to try. Make lists about the relationships and characters in your life so that you are more aware of the people who positively and negatively influence you. Changing your vibrations also includes the vibrations of others around you.

Create visuals for yourself. Use Pinterest to create vision boards of these things as well - collect recipes, inspiring photos, mantras and DIY tutorials. Use the internet for positive reinforcement and stay away from all the “people watching” which does nothing but make you feel bad about yourself or makes you feel like your life is shit compared to others. You see people out there doing things you cannot do because you don’t have the money or have a family to take care of. The negative feelings and thoughts that arise from social media creates a negative living environment for your mind and soul within your body. It is depressing and is like a disease.

For the last few years I myself do not go on social much anymore aside from Instagram (which I limit outside of business) because I find it counteractive to my self-confidence and it is time consuming. I choose to spend my time working on me - my business and my written works since becoming a published author is my biggest goal, one I hope to fulfill by 2019.  These commitments have also caused me to stray from Rasta WifeLine which I am not proud of, but have been necessary for me to achieve my goals for the RasTafari community. All my time away hopefully will be worth it when I am able to publish my book and my homeschooling materials.

So it is important to prioritize your time, to spend your time constructively. We often say there aren’t enough hours in the day, but there are once we choose to use them wisely. Orient your time in a way that works for you, that promotes YOUR BEST SELF. Taking time away from others is beneficial and necessary to your goals and you mustn't regret that. Vibrating higher requires full commitment, full dedication to the cause which is to improve yourself and your life.

So here is my list, which you are free to copy or use as a template for yourself and your needs:

1. Daily affirm mantras and compliments to myself in the mirror. State my intentions to myself.
2. Plan a daily routine of Ises, Exercise and Meditation
3. Journal daily or weekly to focus my intentions, process my feelings, track my growth and tackle my inhibitions
4. Don’t worry or stress – instead make plans for improvement or find solutions instead.
Never go to bed angry or stressed, clear the mind and lighten my mood first.
5. Budget and control my attachment to money – don’t let it stress or control me
6. Spend time outdoors in the natural elements
7. Learn and use crystals for attracting positive energy and healing
8. Dance!
9. Read!
10. Smile!
11. Pamper or treat myself once a month
12. Eat healthy live foods and drink plenty of water
13. Wear nice clothing everyday, things that make me feel like a goddess
14. Get enough rest – to bed early, rise early
15. Create something beautiful for my home, self or others
16. Clear away clutter from my living and work spaces
17. Learn something new, develop a skill that can help me in other aspects of life
18. Set positive goals and activities for myself and family
19. Hug my family and say “I love you” daily
20. Say loving, kind, complimentary and positive things to others
21. Do good deeds for others, especially for the RasTafari community
22. Do not yell
23. Control my temper
24. Do not gossip
25. Stay away from negative people and places, walk away from negative situations
26. Surround myself with inspiring, happy, likeminded people
27. Be grateful
28. Believe  - in the possibility of everything believe I am CAPABLE of accomplishing whatever
29. Visualize the future I wish to have, the person I wish to be
30. Take action and never back down when things are hard
31. Be patient in the process

I hope you will find this idea useful and give it a try. Please let me know how it goes and for the Bredren, I hope you will find these words encouraging and do the same. Tell your Fari family about it, encourage others to make the next year of life a better more Upfull one.
RasTafari on the whole needs to raise its vibration as a collective force in the world. Let us all individually work towards the greater good.

How Ila Uses Coconut The Superfood

Greetings Family,

As I promised, just a simple post about how I use coconut, as I recommend you do too because it really is a superfood filled with so much nutrition as an oil, as water or as "white meat" - coconut is the real white meat! Very sweet and filling too.
Now this is just my biased opinion - there are raw vegans who don't use coconut because they believe it has the wrong balance of sugars. But again to each his or her own. Coconut water is so pure it can be used for blood transfusions and it still provides hydration for the cells - although the argument is also that a raw food diet without an dehydrating foods like Nori and cocoa will require little water.

First of all coconut water is the bomb! As often as I can get them off the tree I have it. Sometimes we buy from vendors. It hydrates and cleans the body and blood instantly. Makes you feel happy and ready to go on the inside. It is just the perfect boost. It is best to drink young coconut water because when it ages it gets very fatty and sweet. I don't mind this though because I like it to use as a natural source of fats, healthy fats.

Daily I use coconut oil. I use it for oil pulling, which is an ageless method of dental care, naturally. In the morning I take a mouthful, not too full though, and I swish it around and gargle for about twenty minutes. You will get saliva added in with the oil as you swish so don't take too much oil to begin, a tablespoon is enough. I usually swallow it when I'm done as a vitamin. But apparently I am ingesting toxins the oil is removing, so I guess it is up to you - you can spit it out in the toilet trash or in the garden.
For smokers this is a great practice to have once or better twice a day, because it freshens breath and protects against gum disease. I recommend you look it up for better tips on how to oil pull.

It is good otherwise to just drink a spoonful of the oil for a vitamin, it hardly has a taste so don't be apprehensive! If you can't do that then you can try eating it with food.

I also add the coconut oil, which is specifically cold-pressed not cooking oil, to what I'm eating. When I make my salad dressings, I always include this oil, again to add more healthy fats to the meal.

I also stir fry my veggies or make my peas or beans with it.

A popular trend that I myself have tried and will do again is making marijuana coconut oil. It involves heating and steeping for four hours, the marijuana in the oil. It must be a very low temp. Crock pots are mainly used to do this. the herb is lightly toasted first. But do check on YouTube for a variety of DIY videos.

My whole family uses this coconut oil for our hair and body too. I put it on when InI natty are still damp because the hair absorbs it better. I use it for scalp itch. I also used it for my babies in the diaper area. Coconut oil can also be used as a safe all natural lubricant for king and queen - but please do not mix with latex!

I love eating the white jelly of coconuts, so delicious and very filling! I also use the dried white meat in the shredded form. I blend it with water for milk and strain that, add a little cinnamon and nutmeg to taste. You can use this with oats to make smoothie bowls of cereal.   My kingman puts that in his oats punch too. I love to put the shredded coconut in my salad too, again to add fats. I also eat it plain as a substitute for unhealthy chocolate snacks. The reason being is that raw foods which I eat until dinner, makes you lose weight, that's why most of these raw vegans online do it to begin with. But I'm not trying to lose weight skinny as I am! I'm just trying to heal and become truly Ital and balanced, so I don't want to lose weight at all, so nuts seeds coconut and avocado and oils are the foods I eat for maintaining weight.

Coconut meat can also be used to make yogurt - i have done it but not with the added probiotics. If you want it to taste like yogurt these healthy gut bacteria must be added and allowed to stand overnight I believe. I would like to try one day.

I have recently bought coconut flour but I haven't figured out how I will use it vegan yet, as it will require trial and error. Cause they say it needs a lot of eggs and liquid to make it work. I have only used it to make bliss balls, which are just dates, nuts and gluten-free flour blended and rolled together into a ball.

So I hope this post gave you a few leads to check up on, do your coconut research and make it fit into your daily routine for better health! And don't forget to link RastaWifeLine on IG, reasoning to soon come I know ones are wondering what has happened, but it is all in the works! Bless!

 Love!

Beetroot and Daily Womb Wellness Livity

Greetings Rastafari Family,

Blessings for the Spring timing, the renewal of the Earth and cosmos, in Aries, also the royal month of Empress Menen and InI visit by the Emperor in 1966.

I wish to reason again about the I-Juice and daily eating and drinking habits that are beneficial to the having a better moon cycle or menstruation.

The womb wellness cleansing juice or the I-JUICE as my kingman and I call it since he likes it too and finds it rejuvenating after a sweat,  is a natural tonic that I believe every Dawta should drink daily. It is not just for the womb as it gives overall strength, immunity and feeds the blood so it should keep the household in better health. I really want to encourage all Dawtas to try it for your overall structure as a Wombman.

Queen Afua says our wombs hold our emotions and memories, so it is important I think, to tend to the physical structure of this very vital organ. It is the womb that is the portal between the solar Iniverse and Earth's physical plane therefore InI Wombman must be guarded of our gift, of our nature, of what JAH has entrusted to us as huemans. Womb care is self love, it is trusting and honoring self, it is acknowledging that part of the uprising to know the I Self Goddess, is in reclaiming and healing the sacred Womb Temple, the ankh in real life. There is n Iritual gain in a sick body, this is the law of the ancients, hence why they took so much interest in fasting, wearing robes, Iditating on the cosmos and nature and so on. The Womb is the portal through which souls manifest on the earthly plane - and if the womb is not in good condition the yutes are not being given the best chance of transitioning in a peaceful process. Just really think about it! Likewise a Kingman must take care of what he eats and drinks, and also cleanse his blood so his sperm will be truly Ital and nontoxic to the womb which can be caused by alcohol tobacco flesh and other acidic foods and drinks.

Apart from being a conditioner that will improve the temple's life, this juice is perfect as a remedy for those of us who have very painful moon cycles, who suffer with vomiting, nausea, cramping, heavy bleeding, fainting, bloating and fatigue. This juice in my own experience is proven to improve PMS and the actual moon time experience, reducing cramping pain and heavy flow in particular. I have been able to function without illness or pills because of it.

And what I love about this juice is that it is somewhat forgiving, it cleanses the organs and blood so well, that anything that is not good for the womb can be removed. What I mean is, if you have been eating the wrong foods, drinking it the week before and the week of your flow or just a few days before and during, will help fight the bad symptoms which are a result of dairy, soy, flour and sugar mainly. This has been my personal experience, whenever I eat too much wheat bread, rice and pasta or cookies, my first two days are pretty bad. But drinking lots of I-Juice takes it away even while it is happening. and of course the best way to avoid it is eliminate all these foods - but we are all hueman and when a Dawta is tired or upset InI just want something sweet nd unhealthy!  So I hope that you Sistren will try it, and really learn what the trigger foods are for your body, and let I know of any results. Give thanks to sis Amanda and those who have already tried and given a positive result.

I wish to review the recipe again as well

You can grate blend or use a juicer but this recipe wasn't created for a juicer, unless you plan to drink your juice fresh every time which is no problem either.

I-JUICE

2  xlarge beets or 3-5 small
1 large thumb of ginger
1 large lemon/lime
1 litre boiled or a pure water

Grate the ginger
Grate the beetroot, or in a blender using grate feature, blend chopped beetroot with half the water.
The water is used when warm not hot.
In a container, steep all the ginger and beetroot and water for a couple hours
Purse a strainer and transfer to your storage jug with cover.
Add lemon juice after straining and chill.

This lasts me two days. I now make this juice as an everyday natural  juice because I want to give myself optimum healing opportunities. Having bad periods causes self -hate, dreading when that time comes, feeling bad about not being able to solve the problem and truly heal...there are a lot of pent up emotions to be resolved in Womb Wellness.

Which leads me to say again, that InI must eat well everyday to really obtain the benefits of healing. This is the hardest part of it, being conscious of what InI eat daily, especially when many changes need to be made. What this means really, is No dairy, sugary drink or snack, wheat like bleached flour or pasta, no soy (or only once a week) and of course no alcohol or meat.  Choose brown foods instead of white - like pasta, rice and flour. There are many UNHEALTHY VEGAN or ITAL meals, so research is necessary. Even though I cannot be raw-vegan now or completely Ital, I know that it is the only way to have a perfect internal function - raw foods only is the best way to heal the womb that it may be fertile and the period only a passing thing of no disturbance.

Being the ones who provide the meals most times, InI Dawtas have to take health seriously, I am not saying spend extra money on expensive foods, I am saying reroute the family budget, substitute mucus foods with whole grains, fruit and vegetables, organic where possible. The price of groceries is reduced if you shop by the farmers market or if you grow something you eat a lot, like greens, at home. InI have to do what we can with the budget we have.

So here is my personal daily livity for womb wellness

Breakfast By 9 in the morning - womb yoga (Sacred Woman steps by Queen Afua), fruit smoothie as a rule but sometimes  ginger tea,  water, water and lemon also

Lunch 11-12:30 - a raw salad alone but sometimes  with channa or hummus  and baked sweet potato most days, or a vegan meal with salad (combos: peas, grain, veggie and salad combo usually, or ground provision with peas and vegetables, or soup, or salad wraps or a channa pattie sandwhich or wrap)

Snack  anytime - oranges, melon and bananas, nuts, popcorn, homemade muffins,  hummus and veg

Dinner 5-6 -  a repeat of lunch

I make everything fresh daily (but sometimes I have left overs for lunch) and I eat home mostly, so if you must eat out make sure it is someplace that takes care in what they prepare. Ginger, cinnamon, date paste and fruits reduce cravings for sweets.

I have started a page on Instagram called @RASTAWIFELINE livicated to reasoning, but mainly ITAL Care and Education and  Womb Wellness -  womb health, melanin consciousness and the overall improvement of Afrikan health by choosing better options, eating more raw and gardening at home. I hope to keep providing information from books as I go along.
My updating is slow because of time constraints so please keep checking these links to see what's new. I really hope that Dawtas will come forward and share their experiences and also share tips and methods you use at home for your own optimal wellness, what has worked for you?

Look for and use my hashtags #RastaWifeLine  #ItalFarmer #Rastacooking #ItalAfrika #ItalisVital #Rastafari  to promote the correct Livity for the nation. Let InI become each other's inspiration and bring TRUE healing to the nation.
I look forward to sharing and working with more Dawtas in Rastafari in this Light.
Selah!
Ila

My Journey to Real Ital Living: Bulgar Wheat Salad

Blessed Love

I know it's been a while but I've been either too busy or just indecisive about what to post.  pregnancy does take it's toll as all my Sistren know, so forgive me for not posting in a while.

But while I've been away I've been focusing on my health and really improving my livity - it's one thing to know what is right from wrong, and another thing to BREAK the unhealthy cycle which is simply just the easy routine of things. With this baby I find that I can't stand to eat much of the cooked food I am used to, and I find it hard to be at the stove for longer than 30 mins because the heat overwhelms me. I'm also dealing with shortness of breath and faintness due to a low pressure in my blood - even though my blood count is good. So I realized that it was time to put all my knowledge on true ital which is to say fresh uncooked eating, into practise, and let go of the old favourites - at least to some extent. it's not to say that I'm totally raw cuz I'm not, I'm just at the stage of really trying to implement more fresh foods into my meals and one cooked food meal a day.

I know I have posted youtube videos about cooking the vege stew and making soya but I really want to cut down on my intake of these foods and provide better tutorials- soya is actually not something I eat often, being pregnant made me start cooking it more, and the fact that my princess liked it - she's an extremely picky eater.  In reality Ital is fresh uncooked or lightly cooked foods, and it's important that I and I RasTafari raspect this truth and get ourselves out of this cooked food funk we all find ourselves in these days.  there are so many vegetarian foods on the market now, but the reality is that the real ital has always been fruits and veges with the occasional ground provision and pea stew. so this is my aim, that even with cooked food it will be limited to pea stew or soup and provision -hopefully. I'm not a big eater of rice, I eat instead grains like bulgar wheat and cous cous but even the grains are hard on the body and break down to sugars. like potato and wheat do as well.

and I find that smoking herb, though I've loved it for years, allows us to keep this bad habit because when the hunger hits, we want to eat something sweet and something heavy which are often not the right foods.
I've stopped smoking now as I did while carring my first baby and after learning about how it toxifies the blood when met with fire, am not sure I will start back, but may just juice it in my smoothies -yes! even though we use it as sacrament, this is not to say that it's not damaging to the nerves and brain, i want to use it beneficially not to just attain the Ites. I know I wrote about the hebrews using it and the burning fire, but the hebrews used it ceremonially as a communal fire not spliffs and they also used it in oil and rubbed it on the crown to gain the effect. though it has become tradition doesn't mean it's beneficial to the body, and the reason why some people have "gone mad" from use is not because herb is bad for you, but because burning it is bad for you in combination with a very poor deficient diet - they didn't eat enough or nutritiously, and their nerves were in the end shot because of the toxicity of the smoke to the blood and brain and lack of nutrients.

So far it's mainly been fruits I eat - though that has been difficult money and availability wise I've been managing to get a nice variety of fresh fruit: pawpaw, pineapple, apple, plums, kiwi, blueberries, strawberries and banana mostly. the berries are hardest to come by however.  obtaining fresh food or being able to afford it is about choosing it over other types of foods, which really is good budgeting and common sense lol.
In the morning I juice a smoothie with any combination of the above, and mid morning i have a bowl of any of the above because i like to just eat fruit not always drink it (plus I havent gotten a juicer yet which is a must!). I drink coconut water whenever the kingman stops and gets me some. Our tree is finally at a bearing stage but with the dry weather i saw it's first nut blossoms have dried up! I'm hoping that by next year it will be producing coconuts to my delight.

as of today I started with the raw vegetables. I made a  bulgar wheat salad and some hummus which I will share here. and in preparing my patchoy for the salad, i had a sip of the green juice and loved it, so I will be making my first green juice tomorrow.the lime really makes it nice.
the vegetable juices are best in the morning and afternoon, more for lunch, and then the meal like salad or my cooked food comes around 3 pm and after. but i still eat fruit in between, all day.

So this is the start of my journey to incorporate more fresh food into my daily livity, in hopes of not only curing a few health issues i've had for most of my life, but to really embrace ital to the fullest as it is key to having a true Iritual connection with the earth and with JAH. fresh food is cleansing and the best type of food for the body, it reduces the amount of energy the body spends in a day on digestion, allowing energy to go to the mind and creative irits. eating cooked food, dairy and all the wheat and dead animals makes the body work harder and makes it spend all day digesting, as these foods take up to 5 hrs to digest! so treating the body best with Ital allows it to really open up, and the mind to really be clear and free to do and create positive vibrations. I hope all sistren will join me in taking steps to becoming Truly Ital. I am inspired by those sistren who are already doing it, and who have already given up things I haven't. one day at a time though, with knowledge and positive power!

now onto the Bulgar Wheat Salad.

½ cup bulgar wheat
1 cup water
Saffron
Cumin
Powdered ginger
Dry basil leaves
7 leaves Green leafy vegetable – i used patchoy
1 stalk celery
15 grape tomatoes or 1-2 large Tomato
1 large Cucumber
½ Lemon/lime
1 leaf Chive
5 pieces of fresh Rosemary leaves
Onion optional

Heat the cup of water to boiling, add in 4 dashes of each of the cumin, saffron, basil and ginger.
Take off heat and add the bulgar wheat. Cover and let sit for 30 mins. Drain off excess water. Let it cool before mixing with salad.

Chop green leaves, celery, chives, rosemary, half a lime in blender. mine gave a little trouble to get all chopped but it worked out okay.

Dice tomato and cucumber into small pieces.

Mix all together with bulgar wheat and voila!

it was very tastey! I tried to make some tacos with romaine lettuce and my first attempt at hummus - was messy but I fulljoyed it lol - the leaves weren't big enough

for the hummus here's what I did - the coconut oil gives it a distinct flavour, maybe next time i will try olive. I opted for coconut because I know it's better for you than the others.

Hummus

2 large spoon full of coconut oil
Juice of 1 small lime
1 1sp cumin
2 dashes ground ginger
1 can peas with ¼ of water still
1 clove garlic

 blend it all together!

How To Sew a Traditional Afrikan Kaftan Dress

Greetings!

So I am going to be making some maternity wear as my clothes are beginning to get a little tight in certain areas - not the belly yet tho. This tutorial is on how to make yourself a basic traditional kaftan dress, African style. It's very simple and does not have any extra style or embellishment - you can use this tutorial to make sabbath clothing, home clothing, knockaround or maternity clothing. I would recommend 3 yards of fabric for this one. happy sewing!

Reasoning on Wearing Jewelry and Adornment

Blessed Love,

The Rastafari Wombman in taking up the livity, in many cases, enters a community where there are certain taboos in place for her free movement about the bredren in the home and gathering place (tabernacle, yard, church). In Rastafari livity there are taboos on purification, stemming from the Bible but which also were adopted because of the ingrained Jamaican taboo on menstrual blood and the presence of women in holy spaces. There are also taboos on her physical appearance, enforcing a certain degree of modesty. Traditionally, she is expected to carry herself in a manner that is unobtrusive on the Rasta man’s priestly way of life, and which does not cause contention or distraction amongst the bredren.

In the earliest generations of RasTafari when the Sistren started to emerge from the home more, they were encouraged to look royal in an Afrikan or Ethiopian manner, and to be natural in keeping with the dreadlock covenant: no toxic "fake-up," or make-up, toxic nail polish; and for some no jewellery either, or, no jewellery that was not Afrikan or handmade in the community. When looking at videos of Rastafari women in the past, such as Queen Omega Rising, we see evidence of this trend, that the outward appearance was Afrikan-based, modest and not overly adorned for many. Rasta women wore beaded chains and pins made of coconut and wood, and which were handmade in the community.

The Empress in being natural was urged to be inclined toward matters of the heart, finding righteousness and the glory therein; rather than focusing on the outward body and its beautification. Vanity was to be shunned, because in Babylon, women would destroy their natural bodies with chemicals and surgery to attain the white man’s ideal of beauty. They rejected their natural selves for an ideal that carried many forms of sin. First Samuel 16:7 reminds man and woman: “For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” Because man looked at the outside first, a Sistren was encouraged not to give man too much to look at, because as an Ethiopian Queen she was worth more than her appearance, and spoken for by the Most High JAH and her King-Man. One could only truly know a Dawta through her speech and word sound.

It was important that the Dawta, in being “cultured” by the bredren, leave off as much of Babylon as she could and separate herself from the impure woemen who used their beauty for wickedness, who forgot JAH and who had no husband or raspect for him: “‘I will punish her For the days of the Baals to which she burned incense. She decked herself with her earrings and jewelry, And went after her lovers; But Me she forgot,’ says the Lord” (Hosea 2:13 NKJV).

It was noted by Rita Marley and other women, that Bob Marley always made sure that women knew not to wear pants or make-up when with him or coming to his house on 56 Hope Road, which he had established as the RasTa camp in the “rich part of town.” Bob Marley as a Rasta Man, therefore, formally requested them to conform to the traditions of the bredren. The dress code of the first rising generations of RasTafari Wombman is shown by the I-Three as the movement grew between the 1970s and 80s.

The first Mansions of RasTafari took these principles from the Bible. Paul and Peter taught their Nazarene churches that man or woman were not to get caught up behind worldly things, but to be focused on the adorning of the spirit which was pure and everlasting, and which had life unlike idols and trinkets which were dead things. “Women professing godliness” and “holy women” were expected to focus more on moral character and service than on how they looked. Righteousness and Fruits of the Spirit were the values that should preoccupy their time and mind instead.

“…in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works” (1 Timothy 2:9-10 NKJV).

“Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.” (1 Peter 3:3-6 NKJV).

Exposing the dreadlock crown and body is therefore an act not only defined by wearing short, revealing or explosive garments, but in excessively advertising one’s beauty by adornment with jewels, gold, precious gems, make-up, salon hairstyles and so on. By the tone of Paul and Peter, it can be concluded that to be a Nazarene wife, it was required that a woman focus on her internal beauty, not her external beauty which could cause distractions.

This tradition likely arose because of the peculiarity of their time. Those believers who had any riches, which would include expensive jewellery, contributed it to the forming of a church in their community, and therefore had to be willing to reject vanity and greed – to lose their life and gain back another one through their faith in founding the church of Eyesus Kristos. The apostles encouraged them in this change because it benefited the church. Likewise, RasTafari rejected all associations with Babylon in the earlier days of the Movement, and many sold their possessions in order to repatriate to Afrika. Jamaicans had to let go if they truly wanted Afrikan redemption.

The Bobo Shanty House/EABIC especially is conscious of the fact that the Lioness in her modesty requires no adornment of the body with trinkets (beyond handmade beaded necklaces and bracelets and guidance pins) or fake-up. She is called upon to not be a distraction to the Priesthood by making herself too noticeable or attractive. Such attention is for the King-Man to give and receive privately at home. The EABIC maintains that babies also do not need Babylonian vanities enforced upon them. Piercing a princess’ ears is an unnecessary, painful act which serves not the child’s eyes or ego; but the family’s wishes to adorn the child by their standards of satisfaction whereby they present the child to others. Earrings, anklets, toe, nose and navel rings, and belly chains are traditionally discouraged in the EABIC though today some Princesses can be seen wearing finger rings, chains and sometimes even pierce their ears – it truly depends on the camp and how it is run, or whether a dawta is a part of an official camp.

One foundation Scripture which is used by this RasTafari Priesthood to abandon all forms of adornment is Isaiah 3, where the Prophet reprimands the Daughters of Zion living in Jerusalem or Judah for their vanity and beguiling ways, as such went hand in hand with their carnal and spiritual sins. The Daughters of Zion would lose their confidence in their adornments and pretty garments, in their haughty and seductive ways. Isaiah 3: 16-26 NKJV specifies that a woeman would lose the pleasure of everything she owns: anklets, scarves, pendants (crescent moon) and charms, bracelets, veils, headdresses, leg ornaments, perfume boxes, rings, nose jewels, festal apparel, mantles, outer garments, purses, mirrors, fine linen, turbans/hats, veils and robes. All vanities, all pride in self, all adornment and fetishes would be taken away. This is because she would lose her home and become a slave or a widow or motherless, she would lose everything because of her sins through these things (fornication, adultery, idolatry). It also can be interpreted to show that she would lose her confidence in using these things again because of the tribulation that could return with them.

Moreover the Lord says: “Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, And walk with outstretched necks and wanton eyes, Walking and mincing as they go, Making a jingling with their feet, Therefore the Lord will strike with a scab, the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, And the Lord will uncover their secret parts.” In that day the Lord will take away the finery: The jingling anklets, the scarves, and the crescents; The pendants, the bracelets, and the veils; The headdresses, the leg ornaments, and the headbands; The perfume boxes, the charms, and the rings; The nose jewels, the festal apparel, and the mantles; The outer garments, the purses, and the mirrors; The fine linen, the turbans, and the robes. And so it shall be: Instead of a sweet smell there will be a stench; Instead of a sash, a rope; Instead of well-set hair, baldness; Instead of a rich robe, a girding of sackcloth; And branding instead of beauty. Your men shall fall by the sword, And your mighty in the war. Her gates shall lament and mourn, And she being desolate shall sit on the ground. (Isaiah 3:16-26)

Ezekiel 16 is another chapter that can be married to Isaiah 3, and it must be noted that in this chapter, adornment is used as a way of illustrating how beautiful Israel was to Yahweh as his creation – he adorned Israel with jewels and fine garments, and made her beautiful. But then Israel defiled herself by taking other gods and using the riches given by Yahweh, to adorn and worship idols. One could argue therefore, that adornment is acceptable once the laws of Yahweh are not defiled in any form or fashion.

Moving past jewellery, EABIC’s forbidden embellishments also include wearing nail polish and make-up, especially lip and eye make-up. Eye-makeup is considered an act of beguilement and nothing more - it creates a false representation. There is no need for a woman to colour her eyes or her lips for that matter - other than to intentionally attract and coerce men, or to compete with and arrogantly set herself above her fellow female counterparts. An EABIC Dawta should strive to do none of the above by the laws of the Church of Black Redemption.

In regard to make-up wearing in the Biblical days, it was a common thing for Khamite and Mesopotamian women to paint their eyes black, red, yellow and green with kohl, and it was something they did to protect their eyes in harsh desert environments, but also for their gods, linked to fertility or sexual energy. The wearing of eye make-up and of provocative garments were traditions the Israelite daughters adopted in Canaan along with idolatry, because the sons of Abraham married foreign daughters (idols and their maidservants, concubines, princesses and women of spoil). From the time of Rebekah and Esau, the idolatrous daughters of the land caused grief to the wives of the Patriarchs. The foreign wives were highly associated with women of ill-repute because of their worship of idols and the sins committed in doing so.

Jezebel is used as an example: “Now when Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she put paint on her eyes and adorned her head, and looked through a window” (2 Kings 9:30). She had adorned herself as high priestess in preparation to do battle against Yahweh in the name of Baal. It followed that church doctrine dictated those who over-embellished outside the law and traditions of Moses in these ways, were woemen who transgressed the Covenant of Abraham with idolatry. They ultimately had bad intentions against fellow man and woman, and could not be trusted.

“For after they had slain their children for their idols, on the same day they came into My sanctuary to profane it; and indeed thus they have done in the midst of My house. “Furthermore you sent for men to come from afar, to whom a messenger was sent; and there they came. And you washed yourself for them, painted your eyes, and adorned yourself with ornaments. Thus I will cause lewdness to cease from the land, that all women may be taught not to practice your lewdness.” (Ezekiel 23:39-40, 48 NKJV).

“Though you clothe yourself with crimson, Though you adorn yourself with ornaments of gold, Though you enlarge your eyes with paint, In vain you will make yourself fair. Your lovers will despise you; They will seek your life.” (Jeremiah 4:30 NKJV)

"O my son! let not a silly woman deceive thee with her speech, lest thou die the most miserable of deaths, and she entangle thee in the net till thou art ensnared. O my son! desire not a woman bedizened with dress and with ointments, who is despicable and silly in her soul. Woe o thee if thou bestow on her anything that is thine, or commit to her what is in thine hand and she entice thee into sin, and God be wroth with thee." (The Story of Ahikar, Chapter 2:8-9)

To dress like one of these woemen therefore would not be favourable if one considered this point of view of the Hebrews.

There is also a similar kind of issue with perfumes, as perfumes were popularly used for the purpose of beguiling or to attract the attention of men. Even Ruth was told by Naomi to prepare herself to gain a blessing from Boaz – she had to present herself and wait for him to give favour (Ruth 3:3).

In the EABIC tabernacle, RasTafari Empresses are generally discouraged from wearing scents that are too strong or from wearing too much at once so as to keep unlawful sexual attraction at bay among the priesthood. The Taba is not the place for strong scents which affect the concentration, or even senses of others, who only wish to commune and worship. On a practical level, if every Sistren arrived heavily cloaked in a different scent, the entire Taba would stink and heat up by the time Sacrament starts to rise and spread.

As the final Scriptural word on the issue of embellishment, Enoch recorded in His Book that adorning the body was something never done in the earth, before man and woman were defiled by the angels who lusted after flesh. Adornment was therefore not of First Creation – “Adam and Eve” didn’t even have clothing initially, right? The Watchers brought the knowledge of developing creativity through the environment, causing humanity to lock itself into a cycle of vanity, which in many instances harms the environment and man (mining, deforestation, toxicity of chemicals used to create products, iniquity). Enoch maintained that adornment led people astray, as this embellishment heightened sexual attraction and carnal vibrations.

And Azazel taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of antimony [toxic chemical element], and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly stones, and all colouring tinctures. And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they were led astray, and became corrupt in all their ways. (Book of Enoch Chapter 8:1-3).

 . . .

Because these stipulations against adornment exist, for those who are strong enforcers of Hebrew Law, the issue of adornment is one that always comes up in defining what is authentic Rasta Woman Livity. Eventually however, or rather, realistically, each decides her pace for adornment, however it may be. Some Dawtas wear earrings, and pierce their daughters’ ears; some wear them but not their daughters, and others do not at all. Some will stress the importance of wearing earrings only on special occasions, rather than as a daily habit. Some choose only clip-ons so as to avoid piercing, or pierce only one hole in each ear at a time, as compromises.

The Nyahbinghi Guidelines also say that piercing is forbidden. Some will argue that Empress Menen wore jewellery and pierced earrings. It was her right as a Queen, and one could certainly never claim that she was immoral or lacking in her devotion to the church and Christian way of life. Others may even point out that Rasta men make all these demands on modesty for a woman, but it is not what they are actually attracted to, they often form relationships and have children with women who proudly wear revealing garments or adorn heavily - free from biblical expectations.

Adornment can be debated, but there truly is no right or wrong, only personal preference. But one thing that stands, is that a natural woman who has humbled to JAH, is beautiful in her movement, speech and vibrant body regardless of how she looks. It is more important for every woman to develop self-love and peace within her own body, to see herself as beautiful, special and sacred as a blank canvas – the way in which she entered this world. She shouldn’t depend on her possessions and looks to gain happiness or sustenance – she should depend only on JAH and the natural talents given to her for her own survival and contribution to the world.

A RasTa Wombman must be comfortable in her own skin the way JAH made it. Modern beautification means less natural but for the Dawta it is the opposite. Her desire to adorn does not define or balance out who she is. Neither is her self-confidence so poor that she destroys herself to be beautiful. She shouldn’t depend on adornments or use her body to gain anything, or develop obsessions over such. Adornments are secondary parts of her wardrobe which reflect her culture and faith; and are not the most attractive or noticeable things about her. Her reputation and positive vibes weigh more than her beauty. Her good words and works are becoming too.

Judging from the overall general culture within RasTafari, many Sistren continue to wear their earrings, anklets and so on, and do not consider it to be something that should be frowned upon because it is part of the Afrikan identity in general. Afrikans created fashion, make-up and jewellery! Wearing earrings is not an offensive act if a Sistren is virtuous in her speech, thoughts and mannerisms or actions. The only abuse in wearing earrings or pendants would be in unlawful imagery like charms depicting white idols, guns, alcohol glasses, profanity, and in wearing them at inappropriate times like during Taba worship or periods of Fast. While gathering amongst other Rastafari, it is also important that she is mindful to wear modest attire so that she can never be accused to bringing vulgarity in the high places of Jah Rastafari.

Ideally, though the elder guidelines of RasTafari do not support the adornment of the Sistren, today it is clear that a Dawta may adorn herself once she carries a raspectful tone and manner. Many Sistren positively or royally wear RasTafari or indigenous Afrikan handmade and organic jewellery and adorn themselves in Afrocentric things. They see their adornments as symbols of their livity, faith and heritage. Accessories are often made of wood, seeds and wooden beads, cowrie shells, hemp, coconut shell, leather, crochet and African-printed fabrics.

Many Sistren adorn themselves with such natural or organic materials because they feel a close connection to the earth and draw their Goddess strength and confidence from Mother Nature. Many aim to stay away from too many precious metals and diamonds which represent “blood diamonds,” and other expensive Babylonian styled bling and trinkets. Some don’t wear any adornments beyond a guidance-badge with a picture of the I-Head JAH RasTafari or Marcus Garvey, or Prince Emmanuel on it.

Overall, the way that a RasTafari Daughter adorns herself is heavily founded upon her Afrikan heritage. Gold and silver accessories when worn, often have RasTafari, Akan or Ethiopian Orthodox symbols on them such as the cross, maskel, ankh, Africa or Ethiopia map, Star of David, adinkra and so on. These were emblems also worn by JAH RasTafari King Alpha and Queen Omega. They represented Their faith on Their clothing as do RasTafari, through royal embellishment.

And in this frame of mind, it can be overstood that for RasTafari Sistren, wearing embellishments are more so statements of purpose and identity; affirmations of a reclaimed Afrikan parentage or heritage. Many Sistren adorn themselves in the colours of Ethiopia and with pictures of the I-Head because they wish to display their strength, Iritual awakening and the revolution taking place against wickedness and the deceptions of White Supremacy. Embellishment of the garments and body adds the touch of Black Nationhood, the Mother Continent tradition. Truly a RasTafari Lioness embellishes herself in the same context as an Ethiopian wife on the battlefield. She wants the world and enemy to know where her allegiance lies!

. . . .

In conclusion, it cannot be discounted that while the Sistren has the freedom to dress as she sees fit, the traditions of the RasTafari wife are also heavily influenced by the King-Dreads. The King-Man can request for his Queen not to eat flesh or drink alcohol, not to wear earrings or pants or revealing clothing or make-up, and to cover her dread in public - from the very beginning of their courtship. Or he can at least ask her to cut-down on her old habits. In the time that he “cultures” her in RasTafari, she will be presented with images of other wombman in the faith, with pictures of Queen Omega Empress Menen Asfaw Herself, and come to realize that unlike what is taught by Babylon, her self-image is most telling of her trod in RasTafari – which from Inception was totally R and Ital.

The Afrikan Queen is to be adorned and glorified in her royalty, but her beauty is to be more than skin-deep or she will be labelled a "Jezebel.” In today’s society, Babylon mainstream is a system of many gods and wicked men that enslave women in many ways, and they follow without realizing the corruption within. Though a RasTa Daughter may hold on to some old ways in how she dresses, she is expected to still be wary of her actions and steps, and to purposely strive to conquer any Babylonian association, vanity and oppression.

On the other hand, a Virtuous Empress choosing to keep wearing acrylic nails, make-up or earrings does not mean that she is weak for carnal sin and will act as a shame to herself or husband – she can look lovely and be the best Sistren, mother and queen/wife (helper and leader) in her community. The King-Man’s acceptance or consent of this is because he is alongside his Queen – her adornment is his adornment, and even his own vanity because she is his.

Generally, to leave off embellishments is a huge challenge and sacrifice which may be hard for Sistren to make every day. Though embellishment or adornment is not strictly forbidden due to “Mansion” distinctions, it is still warranted that the RasTafari Wombman should continually strive throughout her journey to overcome her own issues of vanity in all forms. She must not depend on things to feel confident or worthy of love and attention. Whether or not she wears jewellery or cosmetics or nail polish; her aim is to ensure that she shines from within through her words, actions and relationships rather than in the things she owns or wears.

She is not striving to be most beautiful on the outside, but most beautiful, loving, kind and nurturing from the inside - achieving this peace and love within for her own body, mind and Irit naturally manifests external vibrations of true beauty and inspiring, healing power. These are the qualities that define the RasTafari Lioness and Empress apart from her pan-African warrior strength and queenly ways. It is best that she find and place all her value and wealth within her personality or morality rather than in her jewellery and clothing and lusts thereof. To reiterate, her adornments are secondary to what’s in her heart and mind. In order to know herself, she must strip herself of all that she is and build from there.

Character of the New [Womb]Man

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Krist forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Krist dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord [JAH RasTafari], giving thanks to God the Father through [HIM]. (Colossians 3: 12-17 NKJV)

Pillars of the Mosaic Covenant

Greetings and One love,

I just want to remind everyone that you have 3 more days to get anything I make on sale.

My princess also selabrated her 5th earthstrong today at home for sabbath, we had a quiet blessed day. I'm so proud to see how much she has grown and how beautiful and amazing she is! Motherhood truly is a blessed gift!

Continuing with the Mosaic Covenant and Isra'el, here's an overview and list of the Laws or Code of Conduct as detailed in the Penteteuch:

The Pillars  of  the Mosaic  Covenant

Overstanding  the “You Shall Not”  Principle

The following ensamples of the Law carry an overall theme of being told “no,” “don't,” “you shall not” and are therefore very restrictive or curbing of the carnal or egotistical appetite. Because of the authoritative “obey or die” attitude that comes with Law of any kind (like Hebrew, Caesarean Ethiopian or Egyptian), many of RasTafari shy away from acknowledging submission to a Law or Code of Conduct. Instead they may concentrate more on the physical manifestation of RasTafari like the pan-Afrikan socio-political, musical, aesthetic and humanitarian aspects of the Rastafari Identity. The concept of Livity somehow for many avoids a strict law – but in reality that couldn’t be farther from the truth as our Livity is our Law of Living Right.
I and I must consider that if we turn to the spiritual side of our Faith, and ask ourselves why we call ourselves Rastafari, and why I and I Hail and Praise His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I, we would find that the Law is the basic foundation of RasTafari Morality. Furthermore in any Scripture used considers deeply the Law and ethics: such as the 81- Book Ethiopian Bible, The Gospel of the Nazarenes, or the Books of Enoch, Jubilees and Jasher;[1] or the Kebra Nagast and Feta Nagast which detail Ethiopia's Israelite Covenant. These Ethiopian Hebrew texts all deal with the “you shall not” principles in defining the correct Way for Isra'el to live.
The Hebrew laws for spiritual and social cleanliness are a compilation of denials, philosophical principles, and basic reprimands on inhumanity. In the context of the Hebrew clan, they highlight and rebuke common mistakes that the Israelites in exile and at home in the East made and were berated for directly.
Though it may seem hard to imagine the Biblical time and era as compared to mainstream history knowledge, diligent study of every text of the Hebrew-Israelite and Gentile Chronicles reveals that both contain a pattern of emotional, cultural, carnal and social needs and follow basic patterns that are testaments of human nature.  Solomon often said that there was “nothing new under the sun,” but we are too vain and filled with self-righteousness to see our true lack of power when it comes to the Word of God and the creational laws the world was made by.
In order to know what is Right and Godly, or to be a spiritually grounded, intelligent and mature, formed by the inspiration and loving kindness of the King of Kings of Ethiopia and His Blessed Wife; Rastafari must have an overall idea and feel of the atmosphere and the relationship that existed between the tribes and their Prophet, Priest and God-King which spoke on behalf of the Living God and dealt justice and goodness. We need to know what we shall not do.
Our job is not to repeat the mistakes that men and women have been making for generations in being violent, hateful, fickle, self-involved, selfish, and perverse. Babylon is not just a concept or a country of old - it is an abominable, greedy Western mentality, one whose darkness is so powerful that it blocks out all the Light shining Truth, and Wisdom in the God-Self that rises in the East.  We are so ingrained in exile that few of us are able to know the wrong or care to avoid it.

The Ten Tenets of Jahovah  given  by Moses

And JAH spoke all these Words saying:

I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
You shall have no other gods before Me.
You shall not make for yourself a carved image: any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy Six days you shall labour and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
Honour your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
You shall not murder.
You shall not commit adultery.
You shall not steal.
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.
You shall not covet your neighbour’s house; you shall not covet your neighbour’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbour’s.”
(Exodus 20:3-17).

            * Are acts said to be worthy of death. Because we all do some or many of these sins and behave unjustly towards one another, it should not be surprising that our world has a very high mortality rate. We cause one another to die, and we by our unclean, Anti-Christ hearts, kill ourselves. The need of the Law or some form or Code of Conduct to prevent our deaths and wickedness can therefore never be down-played or overlooked. Our honourable standing in the courts of Zion is an important and daily meditation every Rastafari soul must consider and embrace.

Guidance,
Ila Addis
